Working For Adventure

Road Trip Mentality

Posted by in Adventure

Last weekend, I decided to drive to Oklahoma; specifically Turner Falls. I had no firm plans, I would check it out and camp where ever I felt would be safe and fun. My mind set was very go with the flow. Once I got to Turner Falls it was really late, so I parked my car and got ready for sleeping. I didn’t get a look at the Falls, but I was pretty excited. It would be cold, but I imagined the falls to be pretty epic.¬† The next morning…read more

New Kind of Adventure

Posted by in Adventure

Last night I decided to embark on a new kind of adventure. I am currently endeavoring to make a short film. More on this later I am sure, but I’ve been working on it for the last two weeks. Currently, I am writing and re-writing to make it better. Its a tough process where nothing can be precious.

Plaid like a Grand-dad

Posted by in Clothing, Product Review

My sister texted me last week about a plaid hoodie at L.L. Bean. I almost threw my phone across the room in pure excitement. Not only do I absolutely love plaid, but a hoodie?! Hello-Goodnight! Allbirds

As I said in yesterday’s post about my boots, I had to replace/get rid of almost all my old shoes. Limping around everywhere wasn’t a great look. My foot issue was¬†exacerbated by my $120 Birkenstock sandals. A shoe that everyone said would help, only made it worse. The hard sole hit my arch and made the pain unbearable. Then, I came across Allbirds. I was watching a WIRED profile on the the company. And all the key words they spoke about triggered my interest. Touted as the most comfortable shoes…read more

My Hiking Boots

Posted by in Hiking

Finding the right hiking boots has been a bit of a drama. Last year, I developed an issue with my foot that was diagnosed as a Morton’s neuroma in my right foot. It was very painful and I limped with every shoe I put on. After consulting with a doctor I switched out almost all my shoes. Bye-bye Birkenstocks. Bye-bye Merrell Moab Mid Waterproof Hiking Boot. I had to start over from scratch. And because of this I had a $130 pair of boots I couldn’t wear anymore. Thank God…read more

Sleep System!

Posted by in Adventure, Camping, Product Review

When I first started camping I bought a $25 Coleman sleeping bag and I used 2 yoga mats to elevate me off the ground. It wasn’t the most comfortable way to sleep, but it was cheap and it got the job done. Over time, I knew I needed to upgrade my sleep system first. It was paramount to everything else. As you know I go in to my local REI and pick the brains of these geniuses for a while before I make my decision. Here are a few key…read more
